James Dilworth

Co-Founder and Managing Director

Jim has spent the majority of his career serving large institutions and prominent families around the world.

Most recently Jim has served as senior advisor at Magnitude Capital, a $4 billion dollar institutional alternative investment firm based in NYC. Previously, Jim was the CEO and founder of Simple Alternatives, an investment management firm focused on alternative investments. Prior to Simple Alternatives, Jim founded Dilworth Capital, a consulting firm focused on sourcing hedge funds and providing manager diligence to a group of wealthy global families. During this time, he also worked as a senior advisor to Common Sense Investment Management, a $4.5 billion fund of hedge funds. Before founding Dilworth Capital, Jim founded London-based Middlebury Capital Partners (MCP Chess Group), an alternative investment management firm managing assets for and backed by the Charles Schwab family. Jim began his career in the Eurodollar pit at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange before being recruited by Reuters where he worked in various roles in Chicago and London.

Jim has been invited to speak about alternative investments at various conferences and has been a frequent resource for industry publications such as Bloomberg and Institutional Investor. In 2014, he was named a Rising Star of Mutual Funds by Fund Industry Intelligence. Jim received his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he also attended the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, Germany. He received his B.A. in consumer economics from Southern Illinois University.

Jim and his wife, Margo, have seven children.
