Dennis Jaffe on Becoming a Generative Family

Only a few families of wealth have managed to become generative families and maintain their wealth through multiple generations. Dennis Jaffe, leading architect in the field of family enterprise consulting, studied these families and what made them successful. In his KORE Conversation with Andrew Doust, director of Kore Venture, Dennis explains what generative families are and what you can to do become one.

For over 40 years, Dr. Dennis Jaffe has been one of the leading architects of the field of family enterprise consulting. As both an organizational consultant and clinical psychologist, he has helped multi-generational families develop governance practices that build the capability of next generation leadership and ensure ongoing capability of financial organizations and family offices to serve their family clients.

Jaffe’s work with families helps inform financial advisors and wealth managers about the knowledge and skills needed to serve their client families. He is an acclaimed speaker and workshop leader in programs for business families and financial service firms. He is also an associate with Wise Counsel Research, a think tank that sponsors my research and offers professional education workshops.

Jaffe is a Family Business Fellow at the Smith Family Business Initiative at Cornell University, a faculty advisor at the Ultra High New Worth Institute, a regular contributor to Forbes Leadership channel, reporting on family cross-generational family business and wealth, and a professional member of STEP, Society for Trust and Estate Planners.
